What changed for OneStrategy?

The agency’s website was developed at a time when it had just started making its mark in the industry.

Over the years, it grew to become a leading UX agency , with a rapidly growing global presence. OneStrategy’s remarkable participation and contribution to design conferences, its own initiatives to nurture design innovation, its impact-driven work and diversity in domains has earned the agency a reputation.

The founders identified the opportunity to help their the website reflect this brand evolution, and help users better connect with the brand.

learnings from internal research

Through in-depth discussions with OneStrategy's founders, we uncovered key business goals that would drive the agency's future success. These objectives included attracting more global clients, significantly increasing website traffic, and expanding the leadership team. These goals emerged from our collaborative research process, providing a clear direction for our redesign efforts.

We learnt about the company's foundations

Philosophy

Impact by Design

After a quick heuristic evaluation, we noticed…

Weak First Impression

Our 5-second test with 10 new employees and interns revealed some concerning first impressions. Keywords like 'Dull', 'Monotonous', and 'Generic' came up repeatedly, indicating a disconnect between the brand's identity and its online presence.

Inconsistent Visuals

The existing design lacked visual consistency in CTAs, imagery, and colors, giving it a dated and unprofessional look.

Poor Brand Translation

The design review and user tests highlighted a significant gap between OneStrategy's actual brand identity and how it was perceived through the website. This mismatch prompted us to dive deeper into user perceptions and brand representation online.

Then, rewrote business goals as redesign objectives

Redesign Objective 1

Increasing brand translation

Does the website reflect who ‘One Strategy’ is?

Redesign Objective 2

Increasing user engagement

Does the website help users achieve their goals? Does it keep them curious?

Redesign Objective 3

Help achieve new business goals

Can the website better help achieve the agency's new business goals?

How might we redesign a leading

UX Design Agency's website to align with their evolved brand?

Key heuristic issues

we found…

  • A very matter of fact approach to the copy and the design, weakening the emotional appeal.

  • Most impactful pieces such as the business impact and leadership is hidden from users, hindering the flow through the conversion funnel.

  • Added unnecessary steps for users to gather value out of the content.

  • Weak CTAs, not truly leading users anywhere.
